Hill’s Pet Nutrition is committed to sustainability and making a positive impact in everything we do, including advancing ethical, responsible practices in our industry. We are committed to high standards of animal welfare and strongly condemn mistreatment of any animals.
Hill's Europe and our European suppliers meet animal welfare standards that follow the internationally recognised five freedoms of animal welfare. We are also taking several other measures to further support animal welfare efforts including:
Dedicated Employee Group: We have created a dedicated group of employees, focused on continuous improvement in how we source ingredients. We recognize transformation takes time to implement, but we are committed to working with our suppliers to ensure transparency and continuous improvement in their operations.
EU Platform on Animal Welfare: One of our key priorities is to actively promote the development and use of voluntary commitments to further improve animal welfare. We follow the expert group of the EU Platform on Animal Welfare, which is driving meaningful contributions in the field of animal welfare.
Compliance with European Animal Welfare Legislation: We aim to be compliant with new legislation in advance of the implementation deadline.
Furthermore, Hill's Europe has the ambition to achieve 100% cage-free egg use in the future, and we are committed to working collaboratively with our European suppliers and with the wider industry to drive impactful changes in the European egg supply chain.
Together with our partners, our ambition is to make a better world for people, pets, and the planet and our continued focus on animal welfare is an important step on that journey.
