Why is your cat having difficulty urinating?

If your cat is peeing in unexpected places, like your living room floor, it may mean she has a urinary tract disorder. Such disorders are common but they are also extremely uncomfortable and potentially life-threatening if left untreated, so be sure to consult your vet.

Signs of a urinary tract disorder are easy to spot. In addition to having ‘accidents’ around the house, your cat may strain or cry out in pain while peeing or there may be blood in her urine. If she shows any of these signs, take her to your vet immediately.
